Spring into flooring
What better time to start a room makeover or update an interior, then the start of British Summertime with the longer days and warmer weather? And the Easter bank holiday weekend is the ideal time to consider flooring, even if it means just getting some initial ideas together.
Here at Flooring 4 You we have lots of flooring choice, but in this blog, we share some of the lighter, brighter palettes across a range of high quality flooring from leading brands that guarantee modern style.

The luxury of engineered
For contemporary flooring that oozes style and of course brings with it the strength and long-lasting quality you would expect from an engineered hardwood, Ted Todd is our number one seller here at Flooring 4 You. Looking exactly like solid wood planks yet constructed for suitability in kitchen and bathroom environments, one of our favourite Ted Todd flooring ranges is Warehouse, with planks full of trendsetting, modern personality that will bring your interior to life.
Showing: Looking truly original, we laid the Ted Todd Husk herringbone planks in the Warehouse range to this lounge. You can see each plank is completely unique with smoky oak tones and an undulating surface.
As well as Ted Todd, we have engineered hardwood flooring available from Quick-Step and Panaget too.
Luxury vinyl for the ultimate in practical
Growing increasingly popular within modern homes, LVT flooring brings you years of peace of mind with minimal maintenance yet looks fantastic, whether you choose wood effect planks or stone effect tiles. Both our Karndean Design Flooring and Amtico flooring ranges are popular with our customers across the Cheshire and South Manchester regions and with new styles for 2018, there’s even more reason to consider them for your next project.
Showing: Karndean Art Select in Storm Oak with its modern ashy grey tones in a basketweave pattern, putting a modern twist on the more traditional parquet style flooring.
Showing: Amtico Spacia in White Ash, one of the new colours for 2018 with a soft chalky grain effect to the planks, seen here in a herringbone pattern, one of Flooring 4 You’s most popular laying patterns!
We also supply and install LVT flooring from Distinctive Flooring and Harvey Maria.
Quick-Step laminate flooring
Laminate flooring has changed so much over the last few years. With Quick-Step laminate flooring, designs are more authentic with different finishes and textures, there are waterproof options for kitchen and bathroom environments and of course, installation is quick and easy. We have samples of Quick-Step laminate flooring in all our flooring shops and as Quick-Step Master Installers, we can install your laminate floor to the highest quality finish.
Quick-Step’s Impressive range of laminate flooring has always been one of our bestsellers, but the larger planks in the newer Majestic and Largo ranges are growing in popularity too. And with even more grey tones added to the Quick-Step collections for 2018, laminate flooring will continue to remain a popular flooring of choice in homes.
Showing: Quick-Step Impressive laminate flooring in soft oak light brown, IMU 3557. With its water-repellent HydroSeal coating, it’s ideal for bathrooms as much as kitchens. Liquid that lands on the floor won’t be absorbed and can be mopped up immediately. The floor’s surface is also completely sealed, so bacteria, dirt and spillages won’t ruin it.
Natural carpet colours
Yes, deep colours are all the rage with carpets, including statement-making patterns, but there’s a timeless elegance that lies in a carpet with neutral tones. Greys have been staple colours in homes for many years and many customers continue to ask for a grey carpet, especially when it comes to plush, super soft textures. While grey remains popular, taupes and beiges are more and more sought after as they’re easier to co-ordinate with different décor. But that doesn’t mean compromising on a little bit of pattern, with plenty of carpet choice at Flooring 4 You that makes use of natural tones in a subtle stripe or other pattern.
Showing: Brockway Cavendish Weave, a pure wool striped carpet in neutral beige and grey tones for a subtle hint of texture and pattern, working well within modern interiors.
The prettiest patterns
A lot of the patterned floors we have shared on previous blogs come by way of carpets, but with us recently adding Harvey Maria luxury vinyl tiles to our portfolio of flooring, we can now offer some exciting patterns in hard floors too. One of our favourites, which you can see samples of at our Knutsford flooring showroom, is the Cath Kidston for Harvey Maria collection of luxury vinyl tiles in the modern vintage, nostalgic patterns she is renowned for. The perfect way to add a touch of loveliness to any interior in your home, the tiles are easy to maintain and incredibly practical as much as they are quintessentially whimsical in their design.

Sometimes there’s no need to have a complete flooring overhaul in a room, maybe all you need is to simply accessorise with a rug. If you like the flooring you have but are looking to inject some colour or a bit of a texture, a rug is far less hassle than taking the whole room apart to lay a new carpet. You can design your own rugs and runners with us here at Flooring 4 You, choosing your preferred size, favourite colour and pattern, before finishing the final trim. Or you can browse our selection of rugs from Louis de Poortere, ITC and Jacaranda where you can buy off the shelf.
Showing: Louis de Poortere Multi Bolshoi Pick rug from the Cameo Collection with a blend of soft colours to perfectly complement and bring warmth to any modern interior. A flatweave rug with a neat, hemmed finish, it's approximately 8mm thick and ideal for placing under tables and chairs as well as being easy to maintain.
One of our three showrooms makes a great place to start your next flooring project, where you can browse colours and textures and get professional advice on the best flooring for your interior to suiit your budget. Bring swatches or floor plans, or simply tell us what you like and we can point you in the right direction.
